Every week we change a single item of current Scottish news and see what knock-on effects occur over the following year.

Ever wished you could change the world?  Well, we’re going to see what could happen if just one thing changed each week in Scotland.  What will the impact be over the course of a year?  What influence might there be on the rest of the world?  How does it affect one individual?

These are questions we hope to answer.  Every week on this site we’ll show a list of some of the previous week’s news stories and let you vote on which one we should change.  We’ll then record a two-part podcast for you to download.  The podcast will start with the week’s alternative news.  In the first few weeks, only one item will have changed, but after a while we expect the implications of early changes to be felt in other news items, so the alternative news will veer away from what has actually been happening in Scotland.  In the second part of the podcast we’ll be following the story of a regular Scot whose life is affected by many of these changes, hopefully building into an interesting story as the weeks roll by.
